School Attendance Guidelines

Children can return to school 24 hours after their fever has returned to normal without the aid of fever reducing medications.

Children can return to school only when they have had 1 full day of prescribed antibiotic medication regardless of what your physician may tell you. This is a school wide policy.

Children cannot attend school if they have a rash that has not been identified ( rash of unknown cause).

Children can return to school 24 hours after their last episode of vomiting.

Children with chicken pox can return to school only after all the pox have formed a crust (usuall 1 week from the first eruption). The nurse must check the student before he/she is allowed to return to school.

If your child has been diagnosed with head lice, he/she cannot return to school until they have been treated and all the nits have been removed. The school nurse will check to make sure the child is nit free before they are admitted back to class.

A note from a parent is required after any absence. A note from the doctor is required after a student is absent for 5 consecutive days. |
