December 2008
Dear Parents,
December is a busy month for families and schools. As the weather gets colder, our pace quickens and we find ourselves hurrying to accomplish errands, meet obligations and make sure we do not forget anyone on our list. In the hustle and bustle we may forget some of the simpler ways to make sure people around us feel appreciated. I certainly want to take the time to let you know how much I appreciate our school, our staff, our PTO and our families.
NAMS shows the best of its spirit during these months— our students have shown generosity of heart as they are raising money and collecting warm coats, hats and gloves. Our PTO recruited volunteers to put together a float and walk in cold, rainy weather for a chance at raising money for NA’s Lenore’s Food Pantry. Our staff has spent countless hours revising standards-based assessments that will help improve student achievement across grade levels and subject areas. This is a community that works hard and cares about others.
NAMS 8th grade students are completing their exploration of high school options. They have already visited Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School and will listen to a recruiter from Bristol Agricultural Regional High School on Friday, December 12. The 8th grade teams will also tour North Attleborough High School on December 2 and 3. .
We hope to see you at one or more events in December, so we are including the monthly calendar on the website and Thursday Communications.
